BOARD MEMBER

Jim Labuz, a proud 1978 graduate of Saint Patrick High School, is a lifelong Shamrock whose deep commitment to the school spans decades. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees and as Chairman of the Property, Plant and Equipment Committee, where he has played a vital role in multiple campus improvement projects—including contributions to the INCubator and STEAM Labs. Jim’s company, Mid-States Glass and Metal, which he has owned since 1995, was instrumental in completing the school’s $6.5 million Vision 2000 expansion project. A respected leader in the curtainwall and glazing industry for over 40 years, Jim has overseen high-profile projects throughout the Chicago area, including work for Lincoln Yards, Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, Loyola University Medical Center, and the Burberry Flagship Store.

Honored with the President’s Counselor II Award in 2019 and the prestigious Saint Patrick Legacy Award in 2022, Jim is also a dedicated sponsor of the Green and Gold Gala and Shamrock Golf Outing. Through Mid-States, he provides internships and employment to Saint Patrick students and alumni, currently employing twelve graduates. Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He and his wife, Gina, have raised a proud Shamrock family—including four sons who are alumni of St. Pat’s—and remain active members of their community on Chicago’s Northwest Side.
