To Our Future Shamrocks
We are thrilled you are considering the quality education offered at Saint Patrick High School. Families who take the time to explore St. Pat’s – the oldest, all-male high school in Chicago – will discover that our Lasallian institution has centered on the individual student since 1861.
Our student body consists of young men from all across the Chicagoland area, and beyond. They come from families with a wide range of ethnicities, ideologies, financial capabilities and even religious beliefs. Together, we are Shamrocks. We’d love for you to consider joining our family and experiencing the brotherhood that Saint Patrick has to offer.

WHY SAINT PATRICK?
At Saint Patrick, we offer three unique learning programs customized to a student’s ability:
Academy Scholars Program
Tailor made for students who are extremely high performers and on an accelerated learning track, helping them gain admission into top universities and colleges across the country.
College Prep De La Salle Program
Offers students a curriculum focused on meeting competitive college admission requirements. The program includes electives designed to address special interests and courses tailor-made for success.
College Prep Phoenix Program
Supports students who require additional academic support (including IEP’s and 504 Plans) in certain core subject areas. The program strives to assist students with successfully transitioning to Saint Patrick High School while acquiring the academic skills to move into the College Prep De La Salle Program.
In addition, qualified students have the opportunity to earn college credit while at Saint Patrick. We offer this dual credit opportunity through partnerships with Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Lewis University, Dominican University and Loyola University Chicago. Courses include: Aerodynamics, Computer Science, Calculus I and II, Theatre Appreciation and Foundations of Education.
We are very proudly in our 160th year of educating young men. With 14,000 active alumni, we are rich with pride and tradition! When a young man graduates from St. Pat’s, he enters into a network of alumni that cherish their time as Shamrocks. Our alumni have played a key role in the $20 million we’ve invested in facility updates since 2000 including:
– State-of-the-art 300-person Theater & Atrium (including Art Rooms, Individual Music Rooms and Auxiliary Gym)
– $2 million Health & Wellness Center
– $1 million STEAM Lab
– INCubator Lab (Home of the Shamrocks “Shark Tank”)
– Cafeteria Renovation
– Swimming Pool Renovation
– All-Purpose Field Turf on our Backfield
In addition to helping us update our facilities, alumni and friends of St. Pat’s have donated over $2 million annually for the last 20 years. Their support plays a vital role in allowing us to grant $1.5 million in Scholarships and Tuition Assistance yearly to our families.

reflections from CLASS OF 2020
Each spring we ask a group of our seniors to reflect on their experiences as Shamrocks by writing a letter to Saint Patrick. Click here to see what members of the Class of 2020 had to say about their time at St. Pat’s.
We are thrilled that you’re considering joining the Shamrock family! Please know that we are here to help with any questions you may have regarding the high school process.
