Faith and Service

At Saint Patrick High School, we operate under the five core Lasallian principles each day and integrate them into our curriculum and culture: Faith in the presence of God, quality education, concern for the poor and social justice, respect for all persons and inclusive community comprise what could be considered the honor code of Saint Patrick High School

CAMPUS MINISTRY

Campus Ministry is the faith outreach of our School.  Getting involved allows the student to deepen his faith, affords him opportunities to serve the larger community, and deepen his belief in God, the Church, and society.

The Campus Ministry Staff, in association with teachers and other staff members, works hard to accompany our students on their spiritual journey. School liturgies, class prayers, Reconciliation Services, and retreats are some examples of the ways we have to constantly remind ourselves that we are always in the holy presence of God. They are also a means to touch our students’ hungry hearts as they continue to grow in wisdom, age, and grace before God and humankind.

KAIROS RETREAT

Kairos, meaning “God’s time” in Greek, is a 4-day, overnight Catholic retreat program for high school seniors that takes place at Saint Benedict’s Abbey in Benet Lake, Wisconsin on the Illinois-Wisconsin border. It is an opportunity for our students to deepen their relationship with God, themselves and others through daily prayer, speaker sessions, small groups, Reconciliation Service and Masses. Kairos Retreats are student led by by a team of seniors who have made their own Kairos, assisted by adults who supervise and support. This retreat is a highly encouraged experience for all seniors. COMMUNITY SERVICE

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

The young men of Saint Patrick High School pride themselves on service to our community and participate in regular service projects for various partners including Feed My Starving Children, Alvernia Food Pantry, Louie G. Food Pantry, Special Olympics, Mission of Our Lady of the Angels, The Night Ministry, Chicago First Responders. Students are required to participate in one meaningful service experience each semester.  These opportunities are led by upperclassmen in the school, and provide the student an opportunity to go beyond his comfort zone in order to serve the marginalized in society.

ALL-SCHOOL MASSES

Saint Patrick High School celebrates weekly Mass on Mondays during Periods E and F in our School Chapel, as well as monthly Mass at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church (Freshmen Family, All Saints Day, Thanksgiving, Catholic Schools Week, Ash Wednesday, Founder’s Day, Junior Ring and Graduation.) Shamrocks are invited to participate as Cantors, Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers. If you are interested in becoming part of the Liturgy Team or Mass Choir, please contact Mr. Godinez.
