The Shamrock Wrestling team won the Regional Championship on February 5 and had five individual Regional Champions, including Olin Walker ’24 (113 lbs), Niko Karamaniolas ’24 (126 lbs), and All-Conference wrestlers Gio Hernandez ’23 (170 lbs), Sean Conway ’22 (132 lbs) and Alex Goworowski ’22 (220 lbs).

Eleven Shamrocks wrestlers advanced to Sectionals the following week at Deerfield High School where Walker, Karamaniolas, Hernandez, Conway and Goworowski all qualified for the IHSA State Finals, tying a school record for number of Shamrock wrestlers heading to state set in 2003 and 2012. Seniors Sean Conway and Alex Goworowski finished 1st, sophomore Olin Walker finished 2nd, sophomore Niko Karamaniolas finished 3rd and junior Gio Hernandez finished 4th.
