Joe Thornhill ’74 is a grateful graduate of Saint Patrick High School, where he developed close friendships that remain strong today. He and his wife, Debbie, have two children, Lauren and Christopher, and reside in Park Ridge.
Thornhill received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University in Biology and received his doctor of Dental Surgery from Loyola Dental School in 1982. He completed a general practice residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital and has practiced dentistry on the Northwest side of Chicago for more than 30 years.
He has had the pleasure of being involved at Saint Patrick in different roles over the years. Being a dentist in the community that Saint Patrick draws from, he has seen firsthand the effect a Saint Patrick education has on the young men he has had the privilege of treating.
“They are mature, polite, intelligent young men that make me proud to be a Shamrock,” Thornhill said.
“There is no doubt in my mind that the education I received at Saint Patrick as well as the experience of being a member of the basketball team has given me an advantage in life and was the gateway for my professional career. I feel fortunate to have had the gift of a Saint Patrick education and look forward to further helping Saint Patrick as well as the obligation to.”
