SHAMROCK WRITING CHALLENGE
The Shamrock Writing Challenge is back for another round.  The October challenge is based on the phrase “Don’t open the door!”  This is a common line from horror movies, which are popular at this time of year.  While you don’t have to write a horror story for this challenge, create a story where the phrase “Don’t open that door” appears.  Stories should be no more than 500 words.  The due date is Friday, October 29 at 2:45 P.M.  The winner receives a pass to go to the front of lunch line and get a free beef sandwich.  See your English teacher to sign up.  Start working on your stories now, and remember: Don’t open that door!

PORTILLO’S FUNDRAISER
Support the Lasallian Youth’s participation in Polar Plunge.  Treat yourself to Portillo’s TONIGHT from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.  Show them a copy of the flyer posted in the hallway and that has been included in the weekly Saint Patrick reminder emails and 20% of the proceeds will support Lasallian Youth’s participation in Polar Plunge.

MAGAZINES
Mrs. Wood is looking for old magazines to use for a project.  Please drop off any school appropriate magazines to Room Art 2.  The magazines don’t need to have a lot of photos, but it is a bonus if they do.  Magazines about any school appropriate topic will be welcome.  Collecting will take place throughout October.

YOGA CLUB
Are you stressed out? Having trouble sleeping? Do you want to sharpen your focus? Do you need a way to unwind after a long day? Are you looking for a new approach to strength building or to get a good stretch after your regular workout?  Join Yoga Club!  Starting this Wednesday, Yoga Club will meet every other Wednesday after school in the Atrium.  We will practice basic poses, meditation, and breathing exercises and learn the fundamental principles of yoga.  No experience necessary!  Bring a towel, comfortable clothes and an open mind! See Mrs. Christman in room 204 for more details and the classroom code to sign up! Faculty/Staff are also welcome!

KAIROS RETREAT
If you are on Kairos from November 2-5th, please pick up the permission forms from Ms. McBride in room 205.

Tomorrow in A period will be our mission collection for the Thanksgiving Food Drive which will go towards buying food for the food pantry at St. Celestine School.  Your generosity will help provide food for many people’s Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.  Thank you in advance for your giving.
