WEIGHT ROOM
Coach Ellis will open the Weight Room Monday-Thursday from 3:00 – 4:30 P.M. for any students, including student athletes who are not currently in season, and faculty/staff members who would like to take advantage of the opportunity to set and attain nutritional/fitness goals.  Times will vary for special schedules/holidays and will be communicated.  You can work your own individual program or follow the daily workout of the day (WOD) which will be a mix of weight training/HIT Training/Cardio.  If you are interested, please see Coach Ellis in Room 23 or send him an email at sellis@stpatrick.org to be added to the group.

SHAMROCK WRITING CHALLENGE
The Shamrock Writing Challenge is back for another round.  The October challenge is based on the phrase “Don’t open the door!”  This is a common line from horror movies, which are popular at this time of year.  While you don’t have to write a horror story for this challenge, create a story where the phrase “Don’t open that door” appears.  Stories should be no more than 500 words.  The due date is this Friday at 2:45 P.M.  The winner receives a pass to go to the front of lunch line and get a free beef sandwich.  See your English teacher to sign up.  Start working on your stories now, and remember: Don’t open that door!

MAGAZINES
Mrs. Wood is looking for old magazines to use for a project.  Please drop off any school appropriate magazines to Room Art 2.  The magazines don’t need to have a lot of photos, but it is a bonus if they do.  Magazines about any school appropriate topic will be welcome.  Collecting will take place throughout October.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS SHIRTS AND WRISTBANDS
Student Council and NHS are still selling t-shirts and wristbands for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Shirts are $10 and wristbands are $2 with all profits going to benefit the cause. If you would like to buy either item, please see Ms. McBride in room 205. As a reminder, these shirts count as Spirit Wear and can be worn on Fridays!

We’ll finish watching our movie and begin making Jeopardy questions.

BOOK DISCUSSION
The Junior/Senior Book Discussion Groups meet this Thursday or Friday during F period lunch to discuss Beneath the Scarlet Sky. Your bookmark says which day you meet and please check your email for an important reminder from Mrs. Esola.  Bring your lunch to the Library Reading Loft at the start of F period and, as always, Mrs. Esola will provide dessert.

MISSION COLLECTION
Tomorrow in A Period will be our mission collection for the Thanksgiving Food Drive which will go towards buying food for the food pantry at Saint Celestine School.  Your generosity will help provide food for many people’s Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.  Thank you in advance for your giving.
