SAINT PATRICK HIGH SCHOOL IMPLEMENTS UNIFIED-UNIVERSAL STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM FOR 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR

March 31, 2022

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chicago, IL (March 31, 2022) – Saint Patrick High School, the premier all-male Catholic high school in Chicago, announced the implementation of a Unified-Universal Strength and Conditioning Program aimed at improving athletic performance and overall health and wellness for the 2022-23 school year.

The Unified-Universal Strength and Conditioning Program helps reduce risk of injury, improves overall performance and teaches lifelong health and wellness principles. The program, focused on developing the complete athlete by improving mobility, flexibility, joint stability and strength, facilitates personal development through spiritual growth, leadership and nutrition.

“We are proud to offer athletic performance training of this caliber to our students as part of their regular school day” said incoming principal John Harrington. “Our Unified-Universal Strength and Conditioning Program is one of many examples of our commitment to excellence.”

Saint Patrick has hired a full-time strength and conditioning coach to oversee the program. Chris Hoeller, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Winona State University and is a former Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the high school and collegiate level.

“Incorporating a strength and conditioning program into our curriculum frees up a student’s time before and after school and allows coaches an opportunity to focus on their individual sport and skills instead of using practice time,” said Athletic Director Matt Reardon.

The program, open to all students interested in improving their athletic performance, will be offered through the Physical Education department and incorporated into the curriculum for sophomores through seniors beginning in the 2022-23 school year.
