Below are results for Shamrock Athletics this past week and weekend.

Basketball

Saint Patrick Hoops went 2-0 this weekend with a big ESCC conference win over St. Viator (63-42) on Friday 1/17 and non-conference victory against Wheeling (53-39) on Saturday 1/18 improving t0 14-5, 3-1 in conference play. Junior Caleb Corro led all scorers against St. Viator with 21.

Shamrocks travel to Joliet Catholic this Friday 1/24. Tip off is 7 pm. The next home game is Friday, January 31st vs. Marist at 7 pm. The late legendary coach, Tom Buscarini, will be honored during halftime. It is also Alumni Night. Bowling

Shamrocks are Regional Champions for the third consecutive season winning the title by a 752 pin margin with a total 6,185 pins in a six-game series ahead of 2nd place Payton. Three Shamrocks finished in the top 3: Joshua Baumstark ‘20 – 1st Place (219 avg), Nate Emperado ‘20 – 2nd Place (212 avg) and Bobby Habetler ‘22 – 3rd Place (211 avg) with sophomores Anthony Andrade (9th) and Jacob Perry (10th) rounding out the Top 10.

The Shamrocks will compete in the Sectionals at Bowlero Glendale Heights (558 E. North Ave., Glendale Heights) on Saturday 1/25 at 9 am. The top six teams advance to the IHSA State Finals.

Hockey

Shamrock Hockey will host its annual fundraiser, Laff-Fest, this Saturday 1/25. Click here for more details.

Shamrocks will play their last regular season game on Sunday 1/26 vs D122 Red 2 at American Heartland Ice Arena at 4:30 pm.

Swimming

Shamrocks lost to Marmion 176-110 and defeated St. Francis 110-25 at Marmion last Thursday 1/16.

Varsity will host Saint Ignatius on Wednesday at 5 pm.

Wrestling

The Saint Patrick wrestling team had a busy weekend, wrestling Notre Dame on Friday 1/17 and participating in the ESCC Megaduals at Carmel Catholic on Monday 1/20. The Shamrocks were led by their two Captains, sophomore Sean Conway, who went 4-0 for the weekend, and senior Del Walker who went 3-1, recording 3 pins. Conway improved his season record to 26-4 and Walker improved to 25-6.

The Shamrocks will host their freshman tournament this Saturday 1/25 and Varsity will have the weekend off in preparation for the ESCC Conference Tournament on Friday 1/31.
