SAINT PATRICK WINS IHSA BOYS BOWLING SECTIONAL

January 24, 2022

Jacob Perry ’22 started scoring off at Saturday’s IHSA Bowling Sectional in spectacular fashion, bowling a tournament high 289 the first game. After game two, the Shamrocks took over first place and never looked back. With solid performances from the all-senior squad, the team won the Sectional by over 250 pins. Jack  Schnoebelen ’22 finished 3rd overall with 1,400 pins, averaging 233 for the day. Mike Mile ’22 finished 6th overall with 1,380 pins, a 230 average for the six games and Cam Lajun ’22 averaged 207 per game to help the Shamrocks secure their trip downstate.

Perry, the Individual Sectional Champion, set two Saint Patrick records, bowling 289, 279 and 237 for an 805 series in the first three games and 702 for the back three games for a 1,507 pin total (251 average). The 805 set was the first 800+ series shot in an IHSA  event by a St. Pat’s bowler. His 1,507 ending total passed Danny Silva ’15, who finished with 1,488 at the 2015 Sectional, by 19 pins. As a team, the Shamrock’s 6,585 total on the day was the largest pin total of any Saint Patrick squad at a Sectional event.

This marks the 4th straight appearance at the IHSA Bowling State Finals for the Shamrocks and 10th since 2007. The team is looking to match or better their 2020 4th place finish this weekend in O’Fallon, IL.

Go Shamrocks!
