The 2019 summer reading program has started, and this year’s selection is One Shot at Forever, a non-fiction book about a baseball team from a small high school in central Illinois that became an unlikely contender in the 1971 state championship series. This easy-to-read selection has everything for a good summer read: America’s pastime, good competition, likeable characters, and Illinois connections. Please note that this program is mandatory for all students in honors/AP/PACC English courses AND all students in de la Salle (CP) English courses next year. The only students exempt from this required reading are those in Phoenix-level courses next year. All students will be tested on the book upon our return to school in August. If you have any questions, see your English teacher or Mr. Doyle in room 208.
