TItle i reading & math intervention
Title I intervention services provide extra educational assistance, beyond the regular classroom, to students who need to improve their academic performance in order to meet standards in reading and mathematics. Saint Patrick High School receives a proportionate share of Title I funds from Chicago Public Schools (CPS), and we contract with Catapult Learning to employ Title I teachers to deliver reading and math interventions to our students. Title I teachers collaborate with Saint Patrick High School faculty to support our students’ current learning needs as they acquire new skills in the regular classroom.
Students qualify for Title I services based on: 1.) Standardized test scores or teacher referral, and 2.) Home address. To receive services, a student must display academic need and live within the boundaries of a Title I qualified public school. A student’s family must consent to services each school year by submitting a Title I Parental Permission Letter.
