Paul G. Benson ’79

Paul Benson is a 1979 graduate of Saint Patrick High School. He is one of six brothers to graduate from the school. After graduating, he attended the University of Illinois in Champaign where he earned a bachelor’s of science in Industrial Engineering.

Benson started his career as a Sales Engineer for Trane Corporation in 1984 and went on to work for a major HVAC contractor two years later. He eventually became a a partner in a smaller commercial HVAC contractor in 19991, the same year he completed a master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from DePaul University. In 1994 he changed careers and become an independent Market Maker in the Walmart pit at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Along with two partners, he capitalized multiple Traders at The Chicago Board Options Exchange from 1994-2007.

Benson is a father of three daughters who all attended Immaculate Conception School and have attended Catholic High Schools.  He is an active member and former President of Immaculate Conception Holy Name Mens Club. He is a member of the Financial Advisory Committee for the Passionists. He holds an active real estate license and is a boys basketball coach for Immaculate Conception School.
