Born in Wuxi, China, the birthplace of Chinese industry bisected by the famed Yangtze River, Kevin Mao, founder of the Cultural Exchange Academy, is motivated to support Chinese students to achieve high academic goals.
Mr. Mao worked in different industries in China and U.S., including General Motors and a Chicago based TV station. He started his own importing company – Direct2suppliers Corp in 2004, his major clients include Chicago Police, ProPak Industries.
Mr. Mao also invested in real estate in Chicago area, his portfolio includes an apartment building in Waukegan and an office building in Wheeling.
He has worked closely with Northwestern University to bring senior Chinese executives for short term training at Kellogg School of Management. Since 2005 he and Kellogg Professors have trained over 2000 Chinese executives in Chicago, He is senior researcher at Initiative on Business Model Research at Medill School of Journalism of Northwestern University.
Mr. Mao has been working with Chinese education institutions for over 8 years, he has established vast networking of executive education and recently middle schools in China. Mr. Mao graduated from Northwestern University with a Master degree of Integrated Marketing Communications in 1998, he holds a B.A. from the Institute of International Relations in Beijing in 1991.
