The Saint Patrick Robotics team is headed to the state championship.

The Shamrocks squad won the Think Award for having an excellent engineering notebook at last weekend’s FTC Chicago Championship event, which automatically qualified the team for the FIRST State Championship on Feb. 24-25.

St. Pat’s entered two teams into the Chicago Championship, both of which finished in the top 15. The Shamrocks team that advanced to the state tournament qualified for the playoffs at the Chicago event and made it all the way to the semifinals.

Juniors Kevin Ludwig, Anthony Scarpelli and Shawn Arreguin will also be competing at the state level for the FIRST Dean’s List award, the most prestigious individual student award in FIRST.
