The Cross Country team was back in action this weekend competing at the St. Ignatius Connelly Invite at Lewis University. Senior captains Sam Zabielski, Peter Sakkos and Brian Kieca paced the Shamrocks to a sixth place team finish out of eighteen teams on Saturday. The varsity runners continued to post personal best times at a meet famous for its behemoth hill 150 yards from the start line.

The frosh/soph team finished fifth out of eighteen teams led by freshman Sergio Mendieta who finished second out of one hundred twenty-one runners. Sergio’s time of 17:22 is the fastest by a Shamrock freshman dating back to 2009. Brandon Banda and Aidan Lewis also finished in the top 30 for Saint Patrick.

The Shamrocks will compete again this Wednesday, September 6 at the St. Viator Invite.
