Chris Modrzejewski ’18 has been selected to the IHSSCA All-State team. The senior scored his 29th and 30th goals of the season in the Shamrock’s 5-0 conference victory over Joliet Catholic on Tuesday breaking the previous school record set by current Benedictine University All-American Nick Kapetanos ‘14 during the 2013-14 season.

In addition to Modrzejewski being named All-State, sophomore LuisAngel Saucedo ’20 was one of only 16 players to earn All-Sectional honors.

Saint Patrick finished regular season conference play with a record of 7-1-1 and are now 17-4-2 overall with one regular season game remaining. The 17 wins surpasses the school record set in 1998-99. To date, the Shamrocks have scored 87 goals (3.78 goals scored per game) and allowed only 24 (1.04 goals allowed per game) this season.

“This season has been three and a half years in the making,” says Head Coach Kyle McClure, “I am very proud of our guys, especially our five varsity seniors: Chris Modrzejewski, Nate Anderson, Finn Elsmo, Richie Hernandez and Christopher Troyke. “After our two-win season three years ago, the varsity seniors have put in a tremendous amount of time and energy into transforming our soccer program into something our entire school can be proud of.”

The team will play its final regular season game, and honor its seniors prior to the game as part of Senior Night, on Thursday against Senn High School at Triton College. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
