This morning, Hall-of-Famer Cal Ripken, Jr., Vice Chairman of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation helped to unveil Read-Dunning Park, a multisport athletic field on the Northwest Side of Chicago where Saint Patrick High School will begin play this August.

Other guests in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony included: Tom Ricketts, CEO, Chicago Cubs; Pat Levar ‘95, Chief Operating Officer, Chicago Park District; Dr. Joseph G. Schmidt, President, Saint Patrick High School; Arnie Rivera, Chief Operating Officer, Chicago Public Schools; Alderman Nicholas Sposato (38th); Steve Salem, President & CEO, Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation; Dan Towriss, CEO, Group1001; and student-athletes from St. Pat’s baseball, football and soccer teams.

The Chicago Park District will manage and maintain the synthetic turf Youth Development Park that will also be used by Taft High School and to create youth sports programs in conjunction with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation.
