Saint Patrick basketball coach Mike Bailey has been awarded the Chuck Rolinski-Tom “Buzzy” O’Connor Lifetime Achievement Award by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.

Bailey has accumulated an impressive record of 518-285 during his 29-year coaching career. He has served as the Shamrocks head coach for the past 23 years and has a record of 418-53 during his tenure at St. Pat’s. He previously served as the head coach at St. Gregory (2 years, 40-14) and Dundee Crown (4 years, 56-53).

Throughout his career Bailey has won 10 regional championships and two sectional titles. He is a member of the Shamrock Hall of Fame, the East Suburban Catholic Conference Hall of Fame and the IBCA Hall of Fame.

Bailey is also a past president of the IBCA. He currently serves as the assistant executive director.
