The Shamrock Golf Outing was a huge success once again this year, raising more than $100,000 for Saint Patrick High School.

In addition to an outstanding afternoon of standard, 18-hole golf, participants also had the opportunity to compete for longest and straightest drive, and had the chance to “Beat the President” in a closest to the hole challenge.

The foursome of Jim Labuz ’78, Mark Kon, Teddy Kon ’11 and Bob Carlson had the low score on the afternoon. Wayne King won the longest drive contest, Dan Miller had the Straightest Drive and Rick Wilkens ’82 won the Closest to the Pin Challenge (4 feet, 9 inches). Jack Schumack had a hole-in-on on the eighth hole!

Several golfers — including Mike ’84 and Rich ’81 Mackey, Rick Wilkens ’82, George Karzas and the Donovan family — were able to Beat the President in a closest the the pin challenge.

After an exciting day on the links, the golfers enjoyed a wonderful meal catered by Gale Street Inn before the winners of the raffle and silent auction were announced.
