Faculty Travel the Globe for Summer Enrichment

World Religions teacher Bill Frere was one of six local teachers selected to attend a trip to Israel this month. Prior to teaching at St. Pat's, he taught for 18 years at Trinity in River Forest.

Summertime for Saint Patrick High School teachers means enhancing the curriculum they will use to challenge students throughout the school year. Here are a few enrichment programs some teachers will participate in before they are back to campus for another year:

• Religion teacher and head baseball coach Dan Eberle will attend the Educator’s Summit at St. Mary’s Press in Winona, Minnesota (August).

• World Religions teacher Bill Frere is traveling the Holy Land (July 11-19) as part of a collaborative education project sponsored by the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago. (While Mr. Frere will have limited internet connection, he will be attempting to post updates on his blog at www.mrfrere.blogspot.com.)

• Physics instructor Steve Titmas is attending Cornell University's CNS Institute for Physics Teachers (CIPT) (July 5-July 16).
