It is through the ministry of Christian service that the student is empowered to reach out to those in society who are in need. This experience helps the student to move beyond himself and into the hearts of the poor and marginalized of society. The foundation for service in the life of the Christian adolescent is the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy.
Freshmen are required to engage in 10 hours of service. The requirement for sophomore and junior year is 20 hours each. Students will participate in an on-site Service Fair, at which they can choose the service site to fulfill their requirement.
There is no formal requirement for service during senior year; however, students are strongly encouraged to continue their service into the world as they graduate from Saint Patrick High School.

In "The Washing of the Feet", Jesus sets for the
Apostles (and for us) an example of humble service to
one another by washing the Apostle's feet at the Last
Supper. (John 13:3-17) We liturgically follow Christ's
command to wash each other's feet at the "Mandatum"
ceremony on Holy Thursday.
