Volleyball wins 5th consecutive Regional Title

The Saint Patrick volleyball team (27-5) secured their fifth consecutive regional title on May 27 by defeating Fenwick 25-9 and 25-17. Junior Jimmy Leyden had seven kills and seven blocks. Senior John Coen controlled much of the match with nine kills. The Shamrock’s first sectional semifinal match will be Fri., May 29 at 6:30 p.m. against St. Ignatius (29-7). St. Pat’s currently holds the second seed behind Oak Park-River Forest going into the St. Ignatius Sectional. St. Ignatius, which defeated Lincoln Park 25-14, 25-22 to advance from regionals is ranked third. “As long as we continue to play with the same offensive consistency and defensive intensity that we’ve had, we will be in good shape heading into our match against [St.] Ignatius on Friday,” said head coach Joel Anderson.
