Shamrocks to Host Saint Patrick Stampede

Saint Patrick High School will host the “Saint Patrick Stampede – Grade School Cross Country Invitational” at Schiller Woods on Thursday, September 7. Boy and girls from grades two through eight are invited to compete. A total of four races will be held, and every student that finishes their race will receive a ribbon. Schiller Woods is located at the corner of Cumberland and Irving Park Road. The starting line for the races is near the north parking lot, by the hill.
Races will begin at 4:00pm when the second through sixth grade girls race over a 1 ¼ mile course. The second through sixth grade boys will then race over the same course immediately after the girls. After the younger students are done, the third race of the day will feature the seventh and eighth grade girls on a 1 ¾ mile course, and the final race of the day will be for seventh and eighth grade boys over 1 ¾ miles.
Cost is $3.00 per runner with a maximum of $75 per team. Individual runners are welcome. Teams shold register at the Pavilion prior to the race. Runners may register on the day of the meet at the scorer’s table before 4:00pm. The top ten finishers in each race will receive medals, and trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in each division.
