Johnson Finishes Second in State Long Jump
June 2, 2008

Saint Patrick senior Vince Johnson had a chance to become the first Shamrock in school history to capture an IHSA State Championship in Track and Field. Johnson’s leap of 22’-7.25” in the long jump competition trailed only Nigel Jolly of Morgan Park. Jolly won with a jump of 22’-10”.

Johnson was unable to qualify for the finals in the triple jump, which is traditionally his strongest event. Johnson’s leap of 45’-0” was an inch and a half short of the qualifying standard in the triple jump.
