Shamrocks Defeat Fenwick for 4th Straight IHSA Regional Title

The Saint Patrick volleyball team captured their fourth consecutive IHSA Regional Championship on May 22. The Shamrocks clobbered the Friars of Fenwick 25-14, 25-13 in the Regional Championship Match, behind 14 kills and eight digs from John Coen. Senior setter, Dan Donovan added three kills and 14 assists, while Jimmy Leyden and Joe Schumack each posted three kills and three blocks. The Shamrocks earned a spot in the Championship Match with a win over Prosser by a score of 25-9, 25-7.

The Shamrocks’ quest for an IHSA Sectional Title came to an end when they fell to the host Wolfpack of St. Ignatius in the semi-final of the Chicago (St. Ignatius) Sectional. The Wolfpack defeated the Shamrocks by a score of 25-18, 20-25, 25-18.
