Tirado Named to All-E.S.C.C. Baseball Squad
May 19, 2008
Sophomore Jeremy Tirado was named to the 2008 All-East Suburban Catholic Conference Baseball Team. Tirado, a second baseman, paced the Shamrocks in nearly offensive category, while providing solid defense in the middle of the infield.
For the season, Tirado led the team with a .466 batting average. His 34 hits, six doubles, .506 on base percentage, and .575 slugging percentage all paced the Shamrocks as well. In 18 E.S.C.C. games, against the toughest competition in the state, Tirado batted .444, with a .483 OBA and slugged .500. Tirado’s total of 24 hits in conference play was nearly twice as many hits as any of his Shamrock teammates collected.
The Shamrocks begin play in the Illinois High School Association Class 4A Baseball Tournament at the Northbrook (Glenbrook South) Regional. Saint Patrick takes on the host Titans of Glenbrook South on Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm. The winner of that game will most likely face the #1 seeded Trevians of New Trier for the Regional Championship on Saturday morning.
