Village of Harwood Heights to Honor Dan Santucci
December 7, 2006

Saint Patrick alumnus Dan Santucci will be honored by his hometown, the Village of Harwood Heights, on Thursday, December 14, 2006. At approximately 8:00 pm, at the conclusion of the village’s regular board meeting, Mayor Margaret Fuller will read a proclamation recognizing Santucci as a positive role model and leader in the community. Mayor Fuller will then recess the meeting for refreshments and pictures. Everyone in the community is invited to attend the event.

Santucci, a 2002 graduate of Saint Patrick, is currently a student-athlete at the University of Notre Dame, where he is a member of the football team. Santucci started every game at left offensive guard for the Fighting Irish (25 in his career) and has helped lead the way for an offense that ranks among the national leaders with averages of 273.8 passing yards, 398.0 total yards and 32.4 points per game. Santucci has been a key contributor as the Fighting Irish posted a record of 10-2, earning a berth in the Sugar Bowl against the Tigers of L.S.U. on January 3, 2007 in New Orleans.

Santucci’s achievements aren’t limited to the football field. Santucci received the Knute Rockne Student-Athlete Award from the Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley. He finished with a 3.359 grade-point average after graduating as a Marketing major in the Mendoza College of Business.

Mayor Fuller is proud to honor Santucci, “We would like to recognize Dan Santucci, not only because he is a celebrity in Harwood Heights, but for being a person who exemplifies scholastic achievement, courage, dedication, and team effort. He is a positive role model and a very special resident of Harwood Heights.”
