The Saint Patrick soccer team captured the first Illinois High School Association Regional Championship in school history when they defeated Clemente in the championship game of the Chicago (Saint Patrick) Regional by a score of 2-0 on October 21.

The Shamrocks began regional play with a 3-1 win over Gordon Tech. Chris Gasiorek scored two of the Shamrocks’ three goals, and Josh Del Valle scored the other goal. That win earned the Shamrocks a berth in the Regional Championship Game. In the title game, Bryan Jandrists and Gasiorek scored for the Shamrocks, while Chris Williams earned the shutout.

The Shamrocks face Whitney Young on Tuesday at 3:00pm in the Elmwood Park Sectional semi-final. The winner of that game will face the winner of the Lane Tech versus Saint Ignatius match.
