February 26, 2007

The Saint Patrick Shamrocks defeated the Saint Viator Lions 59-43 in Arlington Heights on February 24, wrapping up another successful regular season. The Shamrocks finished the regular season 19-6 overall, and 10-3 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference, earning the third seed in the Skokie (Niles North) Sectional. The Shamrocks will open the playoffs in the Skokie (Niles West) Regional, where they will take on the winner of the Niles West versus C.I.C.S-Northtown Academy game on Tuesday February 27 at 7:30pm. The Regional Championship is scheduled for 7:30pm on Friday, March 2 at Niles West.

Sam Maniscalco led the Shamrocks with a game-high 23 points in the victory over St. Viator. The Shamrocks used a 16-1 run in the second half to pull away for the victory. Edmond O’Callaghan tallied 15 points and eight rebounds, and Jerome Robinson added 12 points for Saint Patrick.
