The Saint Patrick golf team scored a huge victory over defending East Suburban Catholic Conference champion Saint Viator on September 19. Both teams came into the match undefeated before the Shamrocks beat the Lions by two strokes (152-154). Mike Cermak lead the way with an even par 36, while his brother Matt carded a one over par 37. Ryan Hoesley shot a 39, and Brian O’Connor chipped in with a 40 as the Shamrocks remained undefeated in dual matches at 11-0 this year. Last Saturday the Shamrocks placed 7th at the Galesburg Invitational, shooting 307 as a team.

This week the Shamrocks take on Notre Dame in their final E.S.C.C. dual meet of the season. The Shamrocks are now in the driver’s seat as they try to bring home their first ever conference championship in golf. The E.S.C.C. Conference Championships will be held on Thursday September 29th at Glenwoodie Golf Club in Glenwood, Illinois. The E.S.C.C. Champion is determined by a point system based on head to head dual meets during the season and the E.S.C.C. Conference Championship.
