Saint Patrick Celebrates Founder's Day
May 17, 2006
On Monday, May 15, 2006 the students faculty and staff of Saint Patrick High School came together to celebrate Founder’s Day with a mass presided over by guest celebrant Father Ted Schmitt of Saint Monica’s parish. The Founder’s Day mass celebrates the Canonization of Saint John Baptist de La Salle on May 15, 1900, and the proclamation of de La Salle as heavenly patron of all teachers on May 15, 1950.
The liturgy featured the three Christian Brothers assigned to the school: Brother Konrad Diebold, Brother Michael Flaherty, and Brother David Galinski, renewing their vows as Christian Brothers. A Christian Brother is a member of a worldwide religious order that has committed to follow Jesus Christ in the way of the Brother's founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle. A Brother commits himself to this endeavor by the vows of poverty, celibacy and obedience.
