All four winners were awarded $500 prizes and Certificates of Excellence.
In recognition of their participation in the Quinn-Nelson Scholarship Program for the 2003-04 school year, Certificates of Achievement were awarded to the following students: Saul Bueno ’07 (Chicago/Disney Magnet), Tim Gioia ’04 (Chicago/Midwest Christian Academy), Steven Stojak ’07 (Chicago/Bridge), Cesar Lujan ’06 (Chicago/Transfiguration), Jose Ponce deLeon ’06 (Chicago/St. William), and Elias Chiampas (Chicago/Garvey).
The Quinn-Nelson Scholarship Program is named in honor of longtime English teachers Paul J. Quinn and Jack Nelson. James Turano, a 1982 graduate of Saint Patrick, is the benefactor of the program, which awards two $500 prizes each year. Turano began the program in 1999 in order to pay tribute to Quinn and Nelson, who were both instrumental in his education at Saint Patrick. |
