Saint Patrick reflects on the life of John Paul II
April 12, 2005

In celebration of the life of Pope John Paul II, Saint Patrick High School has come together as a faith community through daily prayer services to reflect on the life of our Holy Father. For nine consecutive days, beginning Tuesday, April 5th and continuing through Tuesday, April 13th, the entire school population will join together in prayer to reflect on the spirituality, leadership, love, and vision so evident in John Paul’s papacy.

The services are live productions captured by our media students under the direction of Aaron Owens, Technology Director. Along with Brother Konrad Diebold, FSC, President and Dr. Joseph Schmidt, Principal, students led the school-televised reflections from the Saint Patrick studio. A special thanks to our Campus Minister, Rich Raho, for coordinating the daily programs, and to the Archdiocese of Chicago for their part in giving our students an opportunity to pay tribute to and celebrate with other schools citywide.

On Friday, April 8, 2005, students were also able to view the Pope’s funeral from the Vatican. Brother Konrad said, “this was a wonderful opportunity for students and faculty alike to share in the final farewell to a man whose influence was felt world-wide.
