McManus Named to All-State Band

Junior trumpet player Jeffrey McManus was chosen for the Illinois Music Educator’s Association’s
All-State Band. McManus performed with the other members of the All-State Band in Peoria on Saturday, January 29.
Placement in the All-State Band is determined through stringent auditions, and selection for membership in one of the performing organizations is a reflection of the high standards established for, and by, the students, directors and Saint Patrick High School.
About 10,000 students participated in district competitions, held in nine geographic districts, throughout the state. Of those 10,000, only 1,250 senior high students were chosen for membership in one of the ten performing organizations at the Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Conference in Peoria.
In addition to performances by the All-State music ensembles, this annual conference also featured over 125 "in-service" professional development workshops for music educators and a music industry trade show, demonstrating the latest in music education materials, instruments and technology.
