Markeise Russell Heard on Chicago Public Radio

Junior Markeise Russell (St. Margaret Mary) was recently a part of a WBEZ 91.5 feature on high school jam sessions at the Chicago Cultural Center’s Randolph Street Café. The event was held in partnership between the Center and the Jazz Institute of Chicago. Russell has developed a passion for music since first learning piano in seventh grade. He learned to play the saxophone after starting at St. Pat’s. Today he is involved in all things musical at St. Pat’s and within the community. He recently played first-chair alto sax during the Illinois Music Educators Associations’ (IMEA) District I Jazz Festival. To read more about Russell, click here.
