Saint Patrick Blood Drive Earns $4,000 Scholarship
November 7, 2007
Saint Patrick High School has been the top school in the Chicagoland area, in their division, for blood donations. The Shamrocks began their quest to finish on top for a fifth consecutive year with their first blood drive of the 2007-08 school year, which was held on Wednesday, November 7. A total of 148 students, faculty and staff donated blood. Blood was collected from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. Saint Patrick will conduct a second blood drive in the spring.
The Shamrocks have earned awards from Lifesource, Chicagoland’s Blood Center, for collecting more blood at their blood drives than any other Chicagoland school, within their division, for each of the last four years. Lifesource separates Chicagoland high schools into six divisions based on the size of the senior class for the contest.
