Buscarini Named St. George Man of the Year

Tom Buscarini was named St. George High School’s Man of the Year at the school’s Annual Banquet on May 7, 2007. Buscarini, a member of the St. George class of 1957 was honored for his dedication and service to the Christian Brothers over his 46 years as a teacher and coach.

Buscarini graduated from Saint Andrew Grammar School, and he was a prep football standout for the Dragons of St. George. He was named All-North Section as a guard and linebacker his senior season. Buscarini earned a football scholarship to attend St. Joseph College in Renselaer, Indiana.

Upon graduating from St. Joseph, Buscarini embarked on his teaching and coaching career, with stops at Saint Michael High School, and Saint Mel High School before he finding a home at Saint Patrick. Buscarini arrived at Saint Patrick in the fall of 1967, and over the last 40 years, he has grown into a Shamrock legend. This spring, Buscarini is retiring after 40 years of teaching and coaching at St. Pat’s.

Buscarini has taught Physical Education, Health, Keyboarding, and United States History, and he has served as the attendance officer for the last 34 years. Buscarini has served as both an assistant and head football coach, and an assistant baseball coach. He was inducted into the Shamrock Hall of Fame in 2001.
