Shamrock Victory Memorial Field was dedicated on August 17, 2001 in memory of Richard S. Clare '64 who was killed during the Viet Nam War in July 1969. Tom Davies, a classmate of Clare's, established the Richard S. Clare Memorial Fund by personally donating $1 for every $2 raised. Because of his fond memories and the excellent education he received at St. Patrick, Davies thought it

fitting to dedicate the practice field in Clare's honor. A memorial stands in testimony to Clare and all those Shamrocks who have served in the military for the past 141 years.
