Saint Patrick High School to Celebrate 150th Anniversary in 2010-2011

Plans are underway for the 150th Anniversary of Saint Patrick High School.

• In the fall of 1861, a quartet of Christian Brothers welcomed a group of neighborhood boys into the newly formed St. Patrick Academy. That quiet, unassuming event would forever alter Chicago’s landscape and establish a relationship surviving well into the 21st Century. With its 150th year in sight, A Tradition of Brotherhood: 150 Years at Saint Patrick High School,
shares the compelling voyage of Saint Patrick High School from its modest 1861 founding to its present-day status as one of Chicago’s most lauded, innovative high schools. This coffee table anniversary book written by Daniel Smith ’98, is not priced yet; however, to reserve your copy please email Margie Mei at mmei@stpatrick.org

• Harris Connect, Inc. has compiled the sesquicentennial alumni directory for delivery in January 2010. You should have placed your order by now, but if you did not and would like to, please contact John Prangl ’70 at jprangl@stpatrick.org.

• Sponsor an Anniversary Street Banner with your name or business for $250. These banners will be hung on Belmont and Austin Avenues from March 1, 2010 through September 1, 2011. For more information please contact Margie Mei at mmei@stpatrick.org

• The committee for the 150th is growing. If you would like to join us please email Margie Mei at mmei@stpatrick.org
